Counting
Why does a counter say "N days need confirming"?
Those days came from evidence the app did not author — a photo, a suggestion, a gap-fill you asked for. Dwelltime never counts a day it cannot trace to you. Open the counter, tap the waiting run, and confirm or fix it.
Why is a day "unknown" instead of counted?
Because the record says which country you were in but not which state or region, and the rule needs the region. Treating unknown as "no" is how state tax gets under-reported, so the app reports it as unknown and asks.
Does the app track my location in the background?
No, by design. A day is recorded when you tap "Record where I am now", enter a trip, or confirm a photo-derived day.
Do arrival and departure days count?
Yes for every rule in the table unless the rule page says otherwise. Each rule page states its own counting convention and links the government source.

What does Pro cost?
One yearly price and one monthly price. The paywall shows the exact amount and the exact date you will be charged before you tap. Cancel any time from your Apple ID subscriptions — there are no offers or retention screens on the way out.
Is there a free trial?

How do I restore a purchase?
Settings → Restore purchases. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID.
Data
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone. There is no account and no server copy. Export everything as CSV or PDF from the You tab at any time.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app. Nothing remains anywhere else. Anonymous crash reports contain no trips.
